Unlocking Anthroposophy: Eurythmy for Educators
You've added teaching colleagues to your staff this year who love the children and are enthusiastic teachers, but are new to Waldorf education?
Offer them a way into anthroposophy and the world of eurythmy with our new, online, eurythmy ABSR (activity-based stress release) course. Your new teachers can learn about the practical application of Anthroposophie and eurythmy through doing, by working with simple, short exercises that lead them from one aspect of the body to the next.
As Rudolf Steiner promises, they will be able to feel and experience the effects of this. Their newly won self-management may also have a positive effect on their presence in the classroom.
Parents and all those interested in education are also cordially invited to experience the secret behind the practical and eurythmy exercises and to make them fruitful for education.

Dr. Steiner gave us exercises to combat nervousness in his lecture cycle Overcoming Nervousness.[i] The short online meetings are used to reflect on the nervousness exercises and their relation to the members of the human being. The new teachers will also have the opportunity to meet other new teachers from other participating schools who are also in the process of learning. Since ABSR has a direct effect on the cycle of work and leisure, the topic of self-expression and prevention of burnout is not only addressed theoretically, but also practised practically.
Eurythmy, which is part of Steiner's nervousness exercises, can be shown personally to the "newcomers" by their own school's eurythmist. They only need to know which exercises they are doing. In this way, the exchange and encounter with the school's own eurythmy also takes place.

Pedagogical Implications
The course not only prevents burnout but also focuses on strengthening the essential components within the framework of the pedagogical fundamental principles. This principle states that development progresses from one higher essential element to the next. Pertaining to education, it becomes evident that the educator's own etheric body must influence the child's physical body. Similarly, the educator's own astral body affects the child's etheric body, and their own ego influences the child's astral body. Even the educator's own spirit self, albeit potentially not fully developed, impacts the child's ego. Thus, this course works towards achieving equilibrium in the educator's essential components, thereby positively influencing their pedagogical efforts.

The course is part of a research project affiliated with the University of Bern. That's why we will ask participants for feedback and comments with anonymous questionnaires before, in the middle and after the seminar.
If you've ever wanted to take part in an initiative helping to bring anthroposophy to the broader world, this is your chance! Participants will be asked to record their experience in short surveys, after taking time to reflect on the work they've completed.
