The small Au gesture: a-o-u
Reach out from the heart with the hands in an open and expanding gesture. Gather them together in a big circular gesture and draw this in towards the heart. Relax your arms. Repeat the movement focusing on connecting the gestures to the qualities of A, O and U.
Try to keep the following in mind during the exercise:
- Are you able to experience the uniqueness of each of the three vowels A, O and U? How would you describe each of them? The experience of each vowel can become one-sided or dominant. What do you have to pay attention to in order to avoid this?
- In the exercise you create a transition from one vowel to the next. What effect do these shifts have on your centeredness? Do you experience an echo from the heart?
- Which moment or transition do you experience most intimately? How do you create intimacy in the movement? By becoming dreamy or by being particularly awake?
