A-E-I in the arms and legs

Simultaneously form an A in the legs and downwardly in the arms. Pay attention that the arms lead the leg and experience the structuring force of the sound in your body. Move into an E-gesture with both the arms and legs. Bring your behind leg out in front to form an I-gesture in the legs as you also create the I-gesture with your arms. Make sure you are fully experiencing the sound force of the gestures before moving to the next. Allow the arms to lead the legs for all movements. Bring your feet back together, return your arms to the sides, and relax.

Try to keep the following in mind during the exercise:
  • How does it feel doing a sound in the arms and legs simultaneously? Do they complement one another?
  • Can you describe the structuring force of the A, the E and the I in the legs, as you experience it?
  • What experiences do you make when you try to avoid guiding the legs with the arms but rather to guide the arms with the force of the legs? Do you manage this just as well?
  • With your legs you are connected to the space below. The arms may unfold themselves in different zones and make gestures below, in the middle and above. How does this influence the interplay of legs and arms? Have you experimented with this?
